The University of Sussex is a British campus university situated next to the East Sussex village of Falmer, within the city of Brighton and Hove. Sussex quickly came to be identified with postwar social change and developed a reputation for left-wing radicalism and social liberalism.
The University of Sussex is ranked within the top 20 in the UK Universities. The Guardian university rankings for 2010 placed Sussex 18th and the 2008 Good University Guide placed it 24th. The University of Sussex is renowned for Britain’s best chemistry department.
Sussex is the only English university located entirely within an area of outstanding natural beauty, the South Downs. The University Of Sussex research activity was rated as world leading.
